Mission and vision
Throughout 1996 the staff of St Joseph's Central School, with the assistance of the consultants from the Catholic Education Office, undertook a comprehensive review of the functions and operations of the school, resulting in the mission and visions statements. These statements were then endorsed by the Parents and Friends Association.
Mission Statement
St Joseph's Central School is a Catholic School community, in which the development of the whole person is undertaken within a safe, faith-filled and secure environment.
Vision statements
The St Joseph's Central School community will achieve the mission statement by:
- enabling gospel values to permeate all facets of school life, developing each child's personal relationship with God and through active participation in the life of the parish.
- generating affirmation and support for the parish priest, students, teachers, parents and wider community, and through supporting and acknowledging that the parents are the first teachers of their children.
- ensuring that the education process takes place in the school.
- appropriately rewarding and recognising achievement and success and by encouraging all students to give of their best at all times.
- encouraging each child to love who they are, to cherish and nourish their talents, to recognise and accept the differnt qualities and gifts of each other, and to be fully involved in the education process.
- demonstrating a commitment to a pastoral care policy that is fair and just.
- encouraging participation and enjoyment in the co-curricular activities provided within the school.
- continually evaluating our progress towards the development of our aims.
